OUR OFFICE STAFF
Our knowledgeable office staff works as a team to provide each patient with the best service possible. From doctors to file clerks, each staff member strives to achieve the highest quality of care for our Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury patients.

We provide a clean and orderly environment which provides our patients with a relaxed and comfortable experience while being treated. Our patients are treated with care and compassion because we understand their pain and want to help relieve their suffering.

Bilingual speaking staff members are available for Hispanic and Vietnamese patients so that they can communicate to us in the language of their choice, improving communication and facilitating treatment.

OUR MARKETING STAFF
The Marketing Staff plays a key role in SSR's success. Unlike most, our Marketing staff takes a "hands on" approach to the case of each and every patient. We are fortunate in the compassion with which our marketing team handles patients' concerns, and in their knowledge of the issues with which our patients have to deal. Marketing works closely with our attorneys, doctors and patients to that insure every aspect of a patient's case is handled properly.

Our Marketing department provides support to patients and attorneys, among other things, insuring that disability forms and documents are correctly filled out and submitted. They work hard to build strong relationships with attorneys and patients and to insure complete and total satisfaction for all parties.

OUR BILLING/COLLECTIONS STAFF
Billing and Collections works behind the scenes to insure that billing is accurate and complete. Their focus on accuracy and timeliness places this department above the rest. They work as a team to track and document all insurance billing. After medical bills have been issued, Billing and Collections prepares the documents required to file a lien in the event a case is denied.

OUR CEO | OUR HISTORY
OUR CEO

Jeffrey Catanzarite, originally trained as a doctor of chiropractic, has been CEO of Southland Spine & Rehabilitation since its beginning in August 2000. His goal was to bring the best health care specialists in a variety of fields together under one roof to evaluate and treat injured workers. He believed that, because of the complexities of industrial injuries, a multi-specialty approach was the method of choice to meet the needs of the injured worker and their Advocates. In 2004 we entered the "Brave New World" of SB 899 and 255, the AMA Guides, ACOEM Guidelines, and--let us not forget--MPNs. Dr. Catanzarite was ready for it. His vision of a "whole person" approach to the treatment of injured workers which was already being realized, allowed Southland Spine & Rehabilitation to readily make the transformation required by these drastic changes in workers' compensation law. Dr. Catanzarite acted aggressively to expand the clinic and invested in training for staff and doctors to meet the new challenges. The effort has been successful, and Dr. Catanzarite gives much of the credit to his dedicated and knowledgeable managers, doctors and support staff. His leadership philosophy has been to find the best people possible, provide training to further improve their skills, and provide them with the best tools available to get the job done.

OUR HISTORY

In 1991 what is now Southland Spine & Rehabilitation began with Dr. Jeffrey Catanzarite and one employee in an 1,100 square foot space in a small building on Baker Street in Costa Mesa. In 1996 the clinic was named The Center for Better Health. We occupied 2,400 square feet and employed three chiropractors in addition to Dr. Catanzarite and a staff of five. In 1997 the first two M.D.'s were hired, Drs. Guy Gottschalk and Julio Westerband. By 1998 CBH occupied a small building on Nutmeg Place, across the street from the present clinic. Southland Spine & Rehabilitation was added to the Center for Better Health in 2000. That year the treating facility with physicians and physical therapists moved to its present location at 1520 Nutmeg Place in Costa Mesa. Chiropractic treatment remained in the old building. In 2005, all of SSR moved to the new facility, occupying 16,000 square feet, and in December 2007, we opened an office in Riverside to serve the Inland Empire. SSR now has a staff of over 20 physicians, six chiropractors, two psychologists, three acupuncturists, two physical therapists, two physicians' assistants, a Certified Impairment Rating Specialist, and a staff of about 100 workers.
